Program Overview

group photo.jpg

Purpose & Potential is a small-group, community-based life enrichment program designed to support continued growth beyond traditional programs.

Each experience is intentionally designed to help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities build independence, confidence, and meaningful social connections through real-world experiences.

Rather than focusing on large group settings or classroom-based activities, Purpose & Potential provides a more personalized, hands-on approach—where skills are practiced in everyday environments like restaurants, stores, and community spaces.

This program is designed to supplement—not replace— employment, volunteering, day programs, or other meaningful activities, offering additional structure, connection, and opportunities for growth throughout the week.

A Different Kind of Support

Many traditional programs focus on larger group sizes or limited opportunities for real-world engagement. Purpose & Potential offers a more intentional, personalized approach designed to support continued growth, independence, and meaningful connection.

  • Small, Supportive Groups (1:3 Ratio)
Participants receive more individualized attention and have the opportunity to build stronger, more meaningful relationships

  • Real-World, Community-Based Learning
Skills are practiced in real environments—such as restaurants, stores, and community spaces—not just discussed in a classroom setting

  • Focus on Independence & Confidence
Participants actively build real-life skills like communication, decision-making, and problem-solving through hands-on experiences

  • Designed to Complement, Not Replace
This program is intentionally structured to fit alongside employment, volunteering, and other programs—adding meaningful structure without replacing what’s already working

  • Led by Experience
Founded by a transition specialist with over 10 years of experience supporting individuals in building independence, employment skills, and meaningful adult lives

Participants attend one consistent day each week to support routine, structure, and strong group connections.

Meeting locations are selected to be as convenient and central as possible for enrolled participants and remain consistent each week.

Final meeting details will be communicated prior to the start of each session. Meeting locations are chosen with both convenience and accessibility in mind.

Purpose & Potential is designed to supplement,

not replace, other meaningful activities.

It works best for individuals who are looking to add structure, connection, and continued growth to their weekly routine.

Program Fit & Support Level

This program is a great fit for individuals who:

  • Have mild to moderate support needs

  • Are able to participate in small-group activities with shared supervision

  • Are independent with restroom and personal care needs

  • Can follow basic directions with guidance

  • Can remain with the group during community outings

  • Can communicate needs verbally, nonverbally, or through assistive communication

To ensure the safety and success of every participant, this program may not be the best fit for individuals who:

  • Require constant one-on-one supervision

  • Frequently wander or attempt to leave the group

  • Require physical assistance with toileting or personal care

  • Have significant behavioral or medical needs requiring specialized support

  • Are unable to safely participate in small-group community outings

  • Engage in behaviors that significantly disrupt the group experience

Our goal is to create an environment where every participant feels successful, comfortable, and supported.

If you’re unsure whether this program is the right fit, we’re happy to connect and talk through your individual needs.

A Typical day at
Purpose & Potential

Each day is thoughtfully planned to provide a balance of structure, social connection, and meaningful community experiences.

While activities may vary, a typical day may include:

Arrival & Check-In

Participants arrive, settle in, and connect with one another as we review the plan for the day.

Community-Based Experience

Outings may include visiting local businesses, volunteering, or participating in activities that build real-world skills and encourage community engagement.

Lunch, Social Time

& Skill Building

Participants practice real-life skills such as ordering food, handling money, communication, and social interaction in natural settings.

Reflection & Wrap-Up

We end the day by reflecting on experiences, celebrating successes, and preparing for pick-up.

Each day is designed to be engaging, supportive, and aligned with each participant’s interests and goals—while encouraging continued growth, connection, and independence.

Activities vary based on participant interests, seasonal opportunities, and weather conditions. Adjustments are made as needed to ensure each day remains safe, engaging, and meaningful

.

Participants may bring lunch or purchase food during community outings, depending on the day’s activities.

Candace handles every situation with kindness and gentle redirection. She creates thoughtful, engaging experiences that are both enjoyable and educational while providing meaningful opportunities to build essential life skills for adulthood.

Program Tuition

Tuition is $125 per session.

Families are invoiced monthly through Square prior to the start of each month. Monthly tuition reflects the number of scheduled program days in that month and reserves the participant’s consistent weekly spot.

Most activities are included in tuition, with minimal additional costs. Participants may bring optional spending money for select outings, and approximately once per month we will have a low-cost community meal where participants can practice ordering and payment skills.

Because staffing, transportation, and activity planning are arranged in advance, tuition is not reduced or refunded for missed days. If a program day is canceled by Purpose & Potential, a credit will be applied to the following month.

This structure allows us to maintain small group sizes, consistent staffing, and high-quality experiences for all participants.

Getting started with Purpose & Potential is simple and designed to ensure the best fit for each participant.
